NO SUGAR BISCUITS

I was looking on the internet for a simple biscuit recipe and they all had tons of butter and tons of sugar or caster sugar and I just thought there is no need for so much sugar and surely you can make biscuits just as yummy but without the 200 grams of sugar!.

So me and Alessia did a trial and error baking session on Saturday and we found the perfect biscuit recipe that I think are a healthier version and still taste delicious!.

INGREDIENTS

200 grams of self raising flour
125 grams of softened butter
1 tablespoon of honey
The chocolate chips of your choice

LETS GET COOKING

This is the most simplest recipe you will ever come across!. Mix the softened butter and the honey together . I actually microwaved the butter for 15 seconds so it was quite runny.

Add your flour to the mixture . I did this in two parts so I could really combined the ingredients. I used my hands to form the biscuit dough.

Then add your filling as I call it . We made them three times since I made the recipe up and we’ve used milk chocolate chips , dark chocolate chunks and this time I chopped up a big bar of dairy milk Oreo and added that in.

I’ve got to say the Oreo chunks were definitely the favourite but you could add in whatever you and the kiddies fancied. Give it a good mix with the chocolate chips In and form little biscuit shapes with your hands and place in a baking tray on greaseproof paper .

Depending on the size of your biscuits we made 14, so however big or small you want them, they do spread a little so bare that in mind .

Cook them on 180C Gas Mark 5 for 30 minutes turning them over half way/or until golden and let cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes.

Yum! Do let me know if you recreate this recipe and also what filling you decide on! :)
