POTTY TRAINING | 1 MONTH UPDATE

So it has actually been just over a month since we decided to start potty training . I did do a Potty training diaries | Week 1 update but thought monthly updates would be a little better :)

So this first month of potty training has been absolutely amazing . Nila has cracked it and is completely dry throughout the day!.

I can’t believe how easy this month has been and I would just like to say , that doesn’t mean it is going to be that easy for everybody, every child is different so please don’t feel disheartened I’f you’ve found this post and your little one isn’t quite there yet .

We have started putting bottoms on her now as we left her to roam free bottomless for the first 3 weeks as it was easier for her to access the potty without having to worry about bottoms.

We have now put knickers and bottoms on her and just keep an eye on her and ask frequently if she needs the toilet as she’s struggling to pull her knickers and leggings down.

The potty we have stuck with for the most part is the Little chick London 3 in 1 potty training system, it’s amazing and would definitely recommend it to anyone that is starting out their potty training journey with their little ones.

We have kept the paw patrol one for upstairs so after her naps during the day and in the morning we take her nappy off and she goes straight away on that one . She needs the toilet Straight away after a nap so she will use the paw patrol one for that as she isn’t sitting on it for a long amount of time .

We have been out to the corner shop , the fields for a walk for half an hour without a nappy on , and we also ventured out for a day out in the car last weekend , nappy free , and we had no accidents and she went on the potty once we got home.

I am so proud of my little munchkin, she has done so well , and she loves that she is a big girl like her sisters.

We are going to keep doing what we are doing and go on more trips without a nappy and try nap time without  one on and see how we get on with the next month :)

Let me know if you are starting your potty training journey and how you are getting on !.

  2. Awww bless her, well done Nila! Potty training seems so long ago now, but remember it being a quick process. Like you say though, every child is different, it's best not to stress and keep trying. Lockdown has been a fantastic time to practice things like potty training! Sim

  3. Sounds like you’ve both done incredibly well. It’s not an easy task but I think when a child is ready it really makes the job much easier.

I tried with my son and it was hell. Left it 3 months and Tried again, within days he was dry through the day x

  5. I remember potty training my two sons well. The most important thing I learned is that if a child can do it they will do it, in their own time.

  6. All 3 of kids had different attempts and stages of potty training and they were all prett different, our youngest did much better when we got her far more invovled in it and explained etc, if we travel far in the car we still have a pull up just incase she sleeps and wets, but even this is not often for her.

  10. Oh wow it sounds like you are getting on so well! We had such an easy time with potty training and I think it was because we left it until my daughter was really ready, getting the timing right really is key.
