NILA’S FIRST DAY AT NURSERY

So today is the day Nila has been waiting for , for a long time - to go to school just like her sister. I have never known a child to be so excited for school and she really couldn’t wait .

She has been put into the afternoon sessions so is going Monday - Friday , 12pm-3pm . Today was her first day and oh god was I dreading it.

I think part of it was the fact that Nila is our last baby and she has reached so many milestones over lockdown, she seems to have grown up so quick in the last few months and I don’t think I was ready for it , but she definitely has been.

This morning we spent talking about school and that mummy was going to drop her off and come and pick her up later . I was really worried we might have a struggle with this as she has said over the last week that she had wanted me to stay at school to play with her .

Anyway we got ready and had lunch and she was SO excited to be in her school uniform and she looks the cutest little thing in it too!.

We drove to school and waited for the gates to open . With Covid , the rules of settling in and taking the children into the class etc has been stopped so I had to say bye to her and let her walk in on her own, well she did just that.

She said hi to her teacher and her teacher made a fuss of her being new , and she said bye to me and walked right in. I could not believe it.

I waited for a few minutes then walked off and obviously cried my eyes out and looked like a panda , why I wore mascara today I really don’t know, I was so emotional, my baby is all grown up,

I picked her up at 3pm and she looked absolutely shattered, bless her . The teacher did say she had a few little melt downs and wanted me but all in all she had a fab day.

She made a picture and played in the water and said she had so much fun and couldn’t wait to go back tomorrow to see all her best friends .

The relief is immense and I’m so happy she has loved her first day, she really needs this Here’s to another chapter ...
