A FAMILY FRIENDLY GUIDE TO TOWYN, NORTH WALES

We have just returned from a lovely family holiday in Towyn, somewhere we go quite often now we have our caravan there!. The perfect trip with everything on your doorstep and everything is walking distance, makes the perfect stress-free holiday.

If you are planning a seaside getaway with little ones in the area, this guide will help you make the most of your trip.

Towyn is packed with family-friendly attractions, sandy beaches, arcades, and classic British seaside fun, perfect for kids of all ages.

Knightly’s Fun Park

A must-visit! Knightly’s Fun Park is a fun fair right by the beach, filled with classic rides, games and delicious food. There is something for everyone, from toddlers to teens. We always come here whenever we visit, and it is one of the girls' favourite things to do.

Towyn Beach

One thing I love is the beach, it is my happy place and whenever I go away, if there is a beach in sight, I will be there. The beach is situated right next to Knightly's Fun Park. A simple, free and always fun day out. We love an afternoon here dipping our toes in the sea. Pack a picnic and its the best day out when you are away.

Welsh Mountain Zoo

We didn't get to visit the zoo this time, but located in nearby Colwyn Bay, the Welsh Mountain Zoo looks like a fantastic day of exploring. From penguins to red pandas, the perfect day out for animal lovers. We will be going next time for sure.

Tir Prince Market

One of Towyn’s most popular attractions is the Tir Prince Market, it is literally a whole day out. With over 400 stalls at its peak during the summer, this is one of the largest outdoor markets in North Wales. From children's toys, clothes, homeware, and beach essentials to gadgets and gifts, there's something for everyone and all budgets.

Plenty of food and snack stalls line the walkways as well as a cafe; you will most definitely need a pit stop for food. We spend on average 3 hours walking around the market, we love it.

Once you have finished exploring the market, there’s fun next door. The site is connected to an amusement park with rides and fun stalls, the kiddies can burn off some steam while parents enjoy a well-deserved rest, especially their feet!. The girls say it reminds them of Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth, fun for all ages and affordable :)

Coastal Walk to Kinmel Bay

If you love a walk like the girls and I do, then this family-friendly coastal path runs from Towyn to Kinmel Bay and is great for pushchairs and scooters. The view is stunning, and it is a lovely family walk.

We love Towyn so much that we decided to buy our own caravan here and now we rent it out for other families to enjoy too!

Everything you need for the best family caravan break:

  • Jake’s FunFair Crazy Golf is just down the road — a fun course that’s a hit with all ages.

  • The heated indoor swimming pool includes a kids' splash zone and lifeguarded sessions.

  • Evenings are always a treat at The Clubhouse, where we have enjoyed bingo, live shows, and games.

  • Food-wise, you are sorted, from the on-site chippy and ice cream parlour to Jake’s Restaurant (the loaded nachos are SO good!).

  • Kids love the arcadesoft play area, and outdoor playground. Nila spends most evenings in soft play, she absolutely loves it!
