WHY STARTING FRESH BEGINS WITH A JOURNAL AND A CUP OF COFFEE

Starting fresh is something I say all the time. Whether it is falling off track with the gym and then going back full force, or finding myself in a bit of a rut and needing to reset, back to square one, it has become a bit of a theme in my life. More often than not, these “resets” are caused by deeper, underlying issues.

For me, I have realised it usually comes down to one thing: I wasn’t being completely honest with myself about what I needed, what I was lacking, or what I was ignoring. I wasn’t showing up for myself in the ways that I truly needed to grow and thrive in every part of my life.

When your mind feels cluttered, overwhelmed, or just too loud, there is something so incredibly calming about picking up a pen and paper and letting it all out. That is exactly why I started journaling in the first place. Writing gives my thoughts a place to go. I have made a conscious decision to wake up just a little earlier than I need to before the morning chaos with the little ones begins, so I can have a quiet moment for myself.

Letting your thoughts breathe before the day takes over is honestly such a game-changer. Getting up and rushing around like a mad woman? That doesn’t work for anyone. So I pour myself a coffee, grab my journal, and spend 15 intentional minutes just writing, thinking, and reflecting. I can say, hand on heart, those 15 minutes have made my days feel lighter, more focused and much more balanced.

Recently, I have added a new journey to my ever-growing personal collection - 100 Days of Healing. This isn’t just a notebook for scribbling thoughts. It’s a beautifully guided self-recovery workbook designed to help you reconnect with your true self. With daily prompts, gentle exercises, reflection questions (my absolute favourite part), and a variety of self-love rituals, it’s the perfect companion for anyone looking to heal, grow and realign with who they really are.

Do you journal? Do you take a few moments out of your day to check in with yourself,to pause, breathe, and acknowledge how you’re really feeling?

I’d genuinely love to hear about your own routines or rituals :)
