TOP TIPS FOR MEAL PLANNING & GIVEAWAY

If you have followed me for a while then you will know I have followed slimming world on and off for nearly 4 years and have lost over 3 1/2 stone .

It’s actually funny looking back on my old videos on YouTube and seeing the difference . I definitely had a potato head back then, if you don’t believe me go and watch! :)

Anyway I am at a stage in my life where I am happy with my body and definitely feel more content in my own skin and one thing that has helped me stay on track with meals is Meal planning.

Meal planning as a whole can be so beneficial. It has kept me on track through my slimming  World journey, saved us tons of money and has kept me organised - which I’ll hold my hands up and admit I am probably the least organised person I know! :)

I wanted to share some tips with you on meal planning and also give you a chance to win the ultimate meal planning essential item :)

First tip for me is definitely online shopping . Grocery shopping online has got to be the best thing we ever did and we rarely do our food shopping in the local supermarkets anymore . You can shop in the comfort of your own home with a brew and go through all the offers , compare prices and brand prices.

We save so much money shopping this way and once your order has been placed , you can go back in and edit it up until a day before it comes, which is brilliant if you’ve ran out of bread and forgot to pop it on your order. I always shop with Ocado and they have a brilliant scheme in place where they take your plastic bags and reimburse you 5p per bag off your bill!.

Check your cupboards- I think this goes without saying , but I am sure I am not the only one that has ended up with about 7 tins of beans in my cupboard at one time . There is always a hidden tin of something at the back so check the cupboards before you add them beans ! .

Use your slow cooker. A slow cooker meal can be as cheap as a few quid and bulking it up with veg makes it even cheaper . You can put all your ingredients in the slow cooker and you know by dinner time , dinner has been cooking away all day and you don’t need to do anything :)

I’ve made doner kebab in the slow cooker and it was completely syn free and absolutely delish!!! and all the family enjoyed it - even Nila :)

Plan your weekly meals in advance. I plan the dinners for the  week ahead on our meal planner on the fridge. This way we all know what we are having for the week and it makes life so much easier . I can plan and prep for the next day if that meal allows me to and it makes me feel so much more motivated and in control of the week when I know what meals we are having.

I use the Ocado meal planner which is actually a fridge magnet one . It comes with a pen and an eraser and is definitely my holy grail! I’ve decided to pick an extra one up for one of you lovely lot to win :)  if you’d like to enter then click below and follow the requirements :)
