Something we do every year and look forward to is the Christmas light switch on. I honestly can't believe the time has come around so quickly, is anyone else feeling so excited this year. We spent most of the day full festive heads on, Christmas crafts, colouring and watching Nila's current favourite thing on Netflix at the minute, The Christmas Special boss baby.
We headed into town a little earlier than usual to enjoy the fair and rides before the lights. First up, of course, the tea cups, I hated these when I was younger as they always made me feel sick but Nila's loves them. She saw one of her friends from school, which made her smile, she was a little upset she had no friends to go with, which happens sometimes if we are going somewhere , this has had me in my thoughts recently.
Next year I really want to make some good friends for not only her but for me, we dont have many friends, well any friends that make an effort for us, and it can be quite lonely when you are the one always making the effort.
We could be out all the time with people if I asked, but left down to anyone else asking us then we are always doing things alone.
Anyway, we really made the most of the evening and each other's company, she really is my little best friend.
We had hot drinks and chocolate, and we even found a lightsaber stall. She had been asking for one for Christmas, but I couldn't find one that lit up, so I treated her and she was SO happy and said it was the best night ever!.
We also saw Santa, it is a lovely event at the light opening, you queue up in the town hall where they have a carol singing service on. A lady came round with little sandwiches and cakes, and we made friends in the line, which was a blessing as it was 50 minutes of waiting. Finally, she saw the big guy in red.
This year she has asked Santa for a camera, a camera that prints out the pictures as soon as you take them.
Let's see what he brings this year.
We ended the evening singing Christmas songs and watching the parade, there was even an appearance from Stitch!.
Home with tea and biscuits and of course Christmas Boss Baby :)
A family holiday tradition since I was born was for us to always drive around for Christmas lights! Happy holidays! -AJ
ReplyDeleteOur local town actually cancelled the light switch on due to the storm! It's great your little one still got to see santa.
