If there’s one thing that has been used daily in this house over the past few years, it’s our Yoto player. I don’t even think Nila remembers life before it at this point. From bedtime stories and little calm moments after school to long car journeys and quiet weekends at home, Yoto has just become part of our routine over the years and as a parent, anything that keeps the magic of storytelling alive without another screen involved is always a win for me.
Yoto has honestly become part of our bedtime routine over the years, too, especially for winding down in the evenings. I’ve actually shared before how much calmer bedtime became for us after creating a simple bedtime routine that worked for Nila.
So when I heard that Yoto are launching their very first Yoto Originals Week, I already knew this was going to be right up Nila’s street.
Running from 11th–18th May, the week is basically a huge celebration of all the original stories, characters and audio adventures created by Yoto themselves, and if your little ones are anything like mine, you will know how quickly they become attached to their favourite cards.
There’s something about Yoto stories, I don’t know whether it’s the voices, the music, the storytelling or just the fact that kids can completely disappear into their imagination while listening, but it feels very different from the loud, fast-paced content children are surrounded by constantly now.
As someone who studies digital photography and spends half her life online creating content, I weirdly appreciate it even more at home. I love anything that slows things down a little for them.
One thing I think is really lovely about this week is that Yoto are giving families free access to hours of audio content through the app, so even if you don’t own every card yet, it’s a really nice chance to explore some new stories together.
Which, let’s be honest, probably means Nila is about to create herself a very long wishlist :)
Yoto have also said there will be giveaways, behind-the-scenes content 20% off Yoto Originals throughout the week, which I know loads of families will be excited about because once your child gets into Yoto, there’s no going back :)
We already have certain stories memorised in this house purely because they have been replayed approximately 472 times.
As big Yoto fans already, we genuinely can’t wait to see what gets released during the week, and I already know our evening routine is about to include even more stories than usual!.
You can find out more about Yoto and explore the stories available.
