WHAT I'M READING | CAT LADY | DAWN O'PORTER

After reading thrillers for the past few months, my last read was The Woman Who Lied by Claire Douglas, I felt like I was getting a little uninspired by the books and the storylines, I definitely think it was down to reading the same genre for a while so I decided to switch it up with Cat Lady - the crazy cat lady story that everyone is talking about.

I had heard quite a lot about Cat Lady by Dawn O'Porter but I didn't think it would be my cup of tea to be honest, it was most definitely a 5 star!.

Single, independent, crazy, aloof, on-the-shelf, lives alone . .

It’s safer for Mia to play the part that people expect. She’s a good wife to her husband Tristan, a doting stepmother, she slips on her suit for work each morning like a new skin.

But beneath the surface, there’s another woman just clawing to get out . . .

When a shocking event shatters the conventional life she’s been so careful to build, Mia is faced with a choice. Does she live for a society that’s all too quick to judge, or does she live for herself?

And if that’s as an independent woman with a cat, then the world better get ready . . .

I loved it, it is so funny and I love the typical British humour in it, but it also made me cry, so many emotions within the book, but I seriously could not put it down.

A woman finding herself again after such a mess, really resonates with me, going through a tough time at the minute, and this was the book I definitely needed to read! :)

If you have read it, I'd love to know what you thought?

  9. This does sound like a great book to read for sure and I had not heard of it before. I am always loving the idea of changing up genres as it can get a bit monotonous. Love this and thank you for sharing this read....I may have to add it to my kindle ;)
