After reading The Maid By Nita Prose, this second one in the series has been on my TBR as I loved The Maid. It had been a little pricey on Kindle so when it went to the 99p offers this month I snapped it right up.
DO NOT DISTURB. WHODUNNIT IN PROGRESS…
Molly the maid sees everything at The Regency Grand Hotel.
So when a renowned guest drops very dead on the tearoom floor, sullying the hotel’s five-star reputation, it falls to Molly to sweep up the clues.
An unfortunate accident? Or a murderous mess?
The answers to the mystery lie behind one guest’s door – and only the maid holds the key…
I really couldn't get into it after a few chapters and thought I might have been in a bit of a reading slump, so left it a few days.
After sitting on it I decided to dedicate a day to getting it read as I am not one for skipping books, I just can't do it!.
After finishing it I really was left thinking, is that it!. The book has been given so much hype and it is a bestseller but I was left feeling a bit deflated.
The story didn't really grip me, the new characters were a little duh and I was expecting so much more as the first book was brilliant.
Nita is releasing a Christmas edition - The Mistletoe Mystery this Christmas, which I have high hopes for.
Sounds like you were a little disappointed with this read. Hopefully the next will be better.
ReplyDelete. I appreciate your honest review — sounds like it might not live up to the first, but I’ll still give it a try. Fingers crossed The Mistletoe Mystery brings back the magic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame this was so disappointing! So pleased I stumbled across your review as I'll not bother with it now
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a classic murder mystery, but with the twist of the made. It's interesting that the book didn't hold your attention - I hope the next one does!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading this at the moment, definitely not as good as the first one, but still good!
