A weekend away was just what we needed, and our 3-night stay at Richardson’s Holiday Park in Norfolk was the perfect break. Fun, carefree and full of so many laughs, it really helped us recharge and make some unforgettable family memories this summer.
Day 1 - Checking In, Bingo Wins & Hot Tub Laughs
From the moment we arrived, everything felt so easy. Check-in at Richardson’s Holiday Park was quick and stress-free, and we couldn’t wait to explore our beautiful lodge. It was absolutely stunning.
After we unpacked and had a brew, our first stop was The Quarterdeck Clubhouse for some good old-fashioned bingo, and guess what, I bloody won the full house! Drinks were on me, obviously :)
That night’s evening entertainment was Stevie Richie from X Factor and Celebrity Big Brother, such a fun show. Nila and I got up for a dance, joined in the kids' games, and had the best giggle.
We ended the night with a midnight dip in the hot tub, and honestly, we haven’t laughed that much in ages. It was the perfect start to our girls' holiday.
Day 2 - High Ropes, Bowling & Sunset Soaks
We kicked off the day by booking into The Crow’s Nest, Richardson’s own high ropes adventure course. Some of us had done it before, but this time Mum and Alessia wanted to face their fears and try and get a bit further round. Mum chickened out (sorry Mum! ), but Alessia absolutely smashed it! The staff were so supportive, encouraging her every step of the way.
We spent the afternoon in the Quarterdeck arcades, had some dinner , which was absolutely delicious!, then wound down with, you guessed, another hot tub session. Nila went to bed early, so I got some quiet time in the tub with my Kindle. Watching the sun set and the moon rise was total bliss.
Day 3 - Lazy Mornings, Mini Golf & Comedy Nights
We started day 3 nice and slow, a morning soak in the hot tub, followed by breakfast on the deck and a little sunbathing. I can’t lie, the hot tub has definitely been one of my highlights this trip. Parents, you will get it, holidays with kids are wonderful, but full-on. Having a space to unwind anytime was honestly a game-changer.
After breakfast, we played a round of mini golf. You can book all activities at the swimming pool reception or the hire shop. Then it was time for another visit to the on-site parks – Richardson’s has two, both great for different ages. Nila is 8 and loved both and could have spent hours there.
The evening’s entertainment was a family-friendly comedy act, and Nila was even invited on stage to help out; she absolutely loved it! We wrapped up the night with a game of music bingo. If you have no idea what this is, it’s like regular bingo, but with songs. So much fun! The winners got a free family bowling session.
Day 4 - Park Play, Kart Hire & Heading Home
Our final morning was spent making the most of the sunshine, a bit of time in the park, followed by a kart hire. It was the perfect way to see more of the holiday park. Richardson’s is huge, with everything from caravans to chalets to luxurious lodges, something for everyone.
We were completely worn out after our ride, grabbed a cuppa, and hit the road, tired, happy, and full of memories.
If you are looking for a family holiday in Norfolk that’s affordable, fun, and full of things to do, I’d 100% recommend Richardson’s.
Whether it’s your first time or you are returning like us, there is always something new to try and memories to make. We can’t wait to come back!
