The weekend has been glorious, and we are really making the most of these sunny spring days. We headed to Westport Lake for the day, and when I say the day, I mean it,we spent a full 4 hours there, and it was honestly so refreshing.
Nila took her scooter, we brought Winnie, Kadiann’s dog, and just headed out for a long walk around the lake. I have been making a conscious effort to get out more with Nila lately, more scooter mornings, and she’s been loving it. Less time sat on the iPad, more fresh air, she loves it.
We ended up going around the lake twice, got chased by the birds, which is basically a given if you have ever been before, and just enjoyed being out in the sunshine.
We stopped for some lunch at the cafe, and it was actually really nice. There is nothing better than food after a long walk, and I’m not going to lie, oatcakes on a full English just hit differently. Proper set us up for the rest of the day.
Of course, a stop at the park was a must for Nila. It was absolutely packed, the sun’s out, and after what feels like the longest winter ever, everyone and their dog is out making the most of it.
Ice creams were essential, obviously, and then we headed home, absolutely knackered. My car is now covered in dog hair, mud, and everything in between. I still haven’t taken it through a car wash yet, or even been through a drive-thru since passing my test!
Days like this are honestly the best and they don’t cost an arm and a leg either. We will definitely be doing more little trips like this over the Easter holidays.

ReplyDeleteMy husband had family in Stoke on Trent and we had a few trips there. We never went to Westport Lake though but do love trips out like this getting out in the fresh air
