The sun is still shining! I know we are heading into April showers, but I am fully in my girl gardening era right now, and I can not wait for the garden to look fabulous. I am dreaming of relaxing in my hammock, cup of tea in hand, Kindle, enjoying my own little cosy garden space. Honestly, the garden is my happy place.
If you are looking for spring garden ideas or planning your own garden refresh, I thought I’d share what I have been doing with mine. A little inspiration always helps.
Garden Clear Out & Decluttering
I started a few weeks ago with a full garden clear-out.My garden had become a bit of a dumping ground, the recycling bin is always overflowing, and somehow half of it ends up outside. We even had two mattresses in the front garden! Thankfully, I managed to get them taken away for a good price. Clearing the space has made the biggest difference and is honestly the best first step in any garden makeover.
Planting Ideas: Starting Dad’s Garden
I’ve written before about creating Dad’s garden, and I have so many ideas. We are starting small, but I have ordered bulbs and seeds, and I am so excited to get planting. This is where the garden really starts to come to life. If you are new to gardening, starting with bulbs is such an easy way to add colour and build confidence.
Outdoor Furniture Upgrade
Our old table and chairs were rusty and just not working anymore. We have replaced them with a lovely black set, and it’s completely transformed that corner into a perfect outdoor seating area for meals and relaxing. For ultimate comfort, I have added a hammock and I am fully manifesting cosy afternoons reading in the sun with a tea and my Kindle
Garden Lighting for Cosy Evenings
You can’t beat good lighting in a garden. We added lots of fairy lights around the seating area last year, which instantly makes everything feel warm and super cute. We have got indoor and outdoor ones this year in different colours, so we can switch it up depending on the mood.
Creating a Relaxing Garden Space
For me, this isn’t just about how the garden looks, it’s about how it feels. I want a space where I can unwind, read, enjoy a cup of tea, and just slow down after a busy day. Adding cosy touches like soft lighting, comfortable seating, and greenery really makes all the difference.
If you are working on your own cosy garden ideas, focus on creating little areas that make you feel calm and happy.
