FOREST OF ARDEN HOTEL REVIEW | ROOMS, SPA, FOOD AND OUR STAY

One thing I am not saying no to is a night away in a gorgeous hotel. Add a huge comfy bed, a coffee machine in the room and breakfast the next morning, and honestly, I am SOLD. We recently stayed at the Forest of Arden Hotel near Birmingham for a little night away, and it was such a gorgeous stay.

This was actually our first hotel stay together, so obviously it was always going to be a little bit special, but the hotel itself was beautiful. From the gorgeous grounds to our room and the fact that breakfast was like a turkey all-inclusive, my kind of stay!

So, if you have been looking at booking a stay yourself, here is my Forest of Arden Hotel review and everything we thought about our night there.

Where is the Forest Of Arden Hotel?

Forest of Arden is in Meriden, between Birmingham and Coventry, so it is actually in such a handy location if you are looking for somewhere around the Midlands.

It is also close to Birmingham Airport and the NEC, which makes it a great option if you have an event or flight coming up and don't fancy staying right in Birmingham city centre.

The thing I really liked, though, was that it didn't feel like we were staying somewhere close to Birmingham at all!.

It is surrounded by loads of greenery and beautiful grounds, so once we arrived it felt much more like we had escaped to the countryside for the night. Very peaceful and so romantic, just what we needed.

Our Room

Our room was gorgeous. You know when you walk into a hotel room and immediately think, yep, I could quite happily stay here? It was one of those. It was spacious, really clean and just had a lovely cosy feel to it.

The bed was also ridiculously comfortable and huge!. I am quite fussy when it comes to hotel beds because there is absolutely nothing worse than paying for a night away and waking up feeling like you have slept on someone's kitchen floor, or been up all night because of the vents; if you know, you know. If you dont, I might write about it :)

The shower was lovely too, and we had a coffee machine in the room. Obviously I spotted that three seconds after walking through the door: Priorities!

Breakfast

Our stay included breakfast the following morning, which I would definitely recommend adding when you book. I absolutely love a hotel breakfast.

Something about wandering downstairs and being presented with endless coffee and food just makes me ridiculously happy, even more so because you dont have to cook it or do the dishes :)

There was plenty of choice, including all the usual cooked breakfast options as well as lighter bits, all the fruit, granola, meats, cheeses; it really was like an all-you-can-eat on holiday.

It was lovely being able to have a slow morning, grab breakfast and another coffee before heading off for the rest of our weekend.

Does Forest Of Arden Have A Spa And Swimming Pool?

It does!. Forest of Arden has a spa and leisure club with an indoor swimming pool and gym, so you could definitely make more of a weekend of it and have a proper relaxing break.

We didn't actually use the spa or swimming pool during our stay because we already had plans for the rest of the weekend, but I would absolutely make time for them if we stayed again.

I actually think this would be such a nice hotel to book for a chilled couples spa break: check in, swim, spa, dinner, drinks, bed.

The Perfect Night In

We had such a relaxing night and, although we originally planned on heading downstairs for dinner, we decided to scrap that idea completely!

Instead, we got into bed, put a movie on and ordered room service- honestly, the best decision.

We went for a chicken club sandwich and chips, cheesecake, and wine, and the food was incredible. Sometimes a night away doesn't need to be packed with plans, and this was exactly what we both needed.

Good food, wine, a movie, a ridiculously comfy bed, and nowhere else we needed to be. It was the perfect little reset for us both.

If you're looking for a hotel near Birmingham for a couples break, a chilled spa weekend or just somewhere lovely to escape to for the night, Forest of Arden is definitely one to have on your list.
