Somewhere I have wanted to go for the longest time is Quarry Walk Park. If you know me well, you will know I have screenshots of this place from ages ago. I am a screenshot girly: books, places, restaurants, random things I want to buy, screenshot that for later!
So, when we were looking for somewhere to spend a few days away for Sam’s birthday, a log cabin with a hot tub seemed like the perfect excuse to finally book it :)
Situated in Cheadle, Staffordshire, Quarry Walk Park is a family-run holiday park set across 45 acres of countryside. It’s one of those places where you can properly switch off, escape reality for a few days and feel like you are hidden away in nature, despite actually being really close to everything you need.
STAYING AT QUARRY WALK PARK
There are quite a few different accommodation options at Quarry Walk Park depending on what kind of break you are looking for and your budget, including log cabins, hot tub lodges, pods and caravan pitches.
Obviously, a hot tub was right at the top of our list, ok my list :)
We booked one of the hot tub lodges and it was absolutely beautiful. It had everything we needed for a couple of nights away, including a fully functioning kitchen with a cooker, microwave and big fridge, plus a dining table that was already set up ready for dinner.
There was a shower and bathroom, and the bedroom was so cute and cosy. It felt like somewhere we could settle into straight away rather than just somewhere we were sleeping for a couple of nights.
BIRTHDAY PACKAGE AND EXTRAS
Because we were staying for Sam’s birthday, I added the birthday celebration package to our booking.
When we arrived, the lodge had been decorated with birthday bunting and balloons, and there were cake pops and sweets waiting for us too. It was such a lovely little touch and made the whole thing feel that bit more special as soon as we walked through the door.
There are loads of other extras you can add to your stay too, including romantic packages with prosecco and chocolates, pamper packages, bubbles and treats, flowers and even a stargazing package where you can hire a telescope for the night.
THINGS TO DO AT QUARRY WALK PARK
One of the things I loved about staying at Quarry Walk Park was that we didn't feel like we needed to have loads planned.
There are some lovely walks around the park, so after having a nosey around the little on-site shop, we went for a wander and explored some of the grounds.
The shop is really handy and stocks plenty of the essentials, including tea, coffee, milk, eggs and bacon.
If you are visiting Quarry Walk Park with children, there is also a lovely play area where they can run around and burn off some of that never-ending energy!
SHOPS AND SUPERMARKETS NEAR QUARRY WALK PARK
Although you feel like you are tucked away in the countryside, you are really not far from civilisation.
There are supermarkets including Asda and Morrisons around five minutes away, so we picked up some shopping and cooked at the lodge rather than worrying about going out for meals.
OUR COUPLES BREAK AT QUARRY WALK PARK
We had the most chilled few nights. We spent loads of time in the hot tub, cooked together, watched movies, talked and laughed until our stomachs hurt. I even sat and read my Kindle- yes, your girl has finally started reading again!
There was no rushing around trying to fit loads into the day; we just switched off and enjoyed being there.
Sometimes those are the trips you remember the most.
If you are looking for a romantic log cabin break in Staffordshire, somewhere for a birthday or anniversary, or just an excuse to disappear into the countryside with someone for a couple of nights, Quarry Walk Park is such a lovely little escape.
It was somewhere I'd had saved in my screenshots for such a long time, so finally getting to stay there made it even more special.
Making memories is what it's all about, and this trip was definitely one of those.
Although I'm now slightly concerned about what else is hiding in my screenshots, waiting to be booked!
