Is Your Car Ready For Winter?

Car safety has always been important to me,especially being a mother of three. My partner Scott is the main driver in our household so he is usually responsible for making sure the car is road safety. However,i am currently learning to drive and know quite a lot about the car,it's tyres and the importance of also checking them.

Checking the tyre's tread is really simple to do. You can check them with a 20p coin, and doesn't take a minute!. Place a 20p coin into the main tread groove of your tyre. If the outer edge of the 20p coin is obscured when it it is inserted then your tread is above the legal limit. I keep a 20p coin in the side of the door so we can check regularly , although Alessia keeps trying to pinch it buy sweets :)

We always make sure the water and oil is checked regularly to save any issues and always have a can of anti -freeze at the ready for the cold frosty school runs in the morning where it looks like Jack Frost has paid a visit!.

To save time, you could check garages like Ossett Tyre House for online buying of Tyres In Wakefield. They have been supplying customers for over 40 years and delivery is straight to your door! So there is no reason to delay that car check :)

We travel to Great Yarmouth every December to visit my parents for Christmas- this journey is a 4 1/2 hour trip so making sure the car is safe for the road is top priority. We have just had all new tyres put on and a new wing mirror so we are definaely car ready and the children can not wait to see Nanny and Granddad!

Are you visiting your loved ones this Christmas? I would love to know where you are heading :)

  1. Good post this. That end of the A47 towards Great Yarmouth is a nightmare on the road so anything you can do to help make the drive more secure is for the better

  3. Such valuable tips here. We don't currently use our car as it needs some work done to it, but will keep these in mind.

I only drive my car about twice a year. I ought to check it really. It's pretty neglected.
