We’ve been making biscuits this afternoon and Nila has shown such an interest in baking and cooking with me . It is definitely something she really enjoys doing .
So my easy peasy biscuit recipe is super simple and they taste so yummy.
INGREDIENTS
200G plain flour
100g butter
50g sugar
3 tablespoons of gingerbread syrup , or honey -I like to do this so there isn’t as much refined sugar in them , plus it makes them taste delicious! :)
2 tablespoons cinnamon - optional
1 egg
METHOD
mix your butter , egg and sugar until it is nice and fluffy. We used the hand whisk for this . We haven’t got a fancy mixer , and that is ok :) it can all be done just as good by hand.
Add in your syrup and cinnamon - we went for cinnamon for some festive biscuits this time :)
Slowly add in your flour , mixing as you go until you get a nice biscuit dough . Add a little more flour if it’s still a little sticky.
Roll it out onto a light flour dusted surface and get the cutters out :)
Bake on gas mark 2 / 150c for 25 minutes or until golden brown . Then enjoy :)
What a fun Christmas activity! Thanks for the honey tip!
