Over the last few weeks we have been testing out some of the new games we’ve been kindly sent and we’ve been hooked!.
You really can’t beat a games marathon can you ?
RUMMIKUB
Rummikub has actually been on my wish list for a few years and I was even tempted to buy it for myself last Christmas but I held out and we have been lucky enough to be gifted it this Spring .
It is aimed at 7 years + and is a real easy and simple game . Each player starts with a certain amount of tiles and the aim of the game is to get rid of all your tiles by creating the sequences , so 1,2,3,4,5 or the same numbers so all the 3s etc .
So each player takes it in turns to put down their tiles or add or change from the others . It reminds me a little bit of uno , but this is definitely one of my favourite games now and we love playing this one .
RUMMIKUB JUNIOR
We also got the junior version , which I didn’t even know existed. Alessia enjoys this one more as it is aimed at ages 4 + which is a little easier .
The concept is the same as well as winning stars , which Alessia loves winning !. It really is a lovely start up game for the younger ones :)
RUBIKS
Rubik cubes were always the bain of my childhood- I could never do them , could you? . We would take it in turns to try and solve it and nobody ever could.
This rubik cage you can actually play with someone else and we found it really interesting. You have 6 blocks in 6 different colours . You choose your colour sets then take it in turns to make a move, either by dropping a cube , flipping the cage or twisting the cage .
It was such good fun and the girls have been hooked on this one - very competitive:)
OTHELLO
Othello is actually one of Mezzer’s favourite games and he has loved it since he was little . I didn’t think I’d be into it if I’m being honest but it’s actually a great game of an evening when the kiddies are in bed .
We’ve enjoyed this game outside whilst the kids have been playing on the trampoline and also on our Friday night when the kids are asleep .
TRIOMINOS
A great family game for everyone to enjoy . Trimominos sunshine is dominos but with a cool twist . The aim is to use the triangular pieces with different points to score the highest by matching the tiles together .
We have really enjoyed this one , especially Kadiann. It’s a great one to take away with you too as it’s stored in a little handy bag..
Games are definitely our go to and this big selection has been a great additions to our ever growing collection.
I’d love to hear what your favourite games are and if you’ve played any of these ones .
