Apple turnovers are definitely one of our favourite treats to pick up at the bakery. Fresh cream , apples and pastry - delish!.
I decided to recreate them and they came out so good , even if I do say so myself :)
INGREDIENTS
1 sheet of ready rolled puff pastry
2 cooking apples
Tablespoon of
Cinnamon
Tablespoon of brown sugar
Milk
Fresh pouring cream
LETS GET BAKING
Preheat your oven , gas mark 4, 180C.
Cut up your apples and put them in a pan on low heat with a little water , your cinnamon and sugar until they go mushy.
Slice your pastry into squares and then add your mixture to half the square so you have the other side for folding into a triangle .
Be careful not to over fill- they can get pretty messy! :)
Rub some milk on the edges before folding and seal with a fork . Pop them in the oven for 25-30 minutes , or until golden brown.
Once they are done , leave them to completely cool down before the next step.
Pour your cream into a mixer and set on high until it becomes really thick.
Slice your turnovers and squeeze your cream in . Piping bags work best but you can improvise with a sandwich bag and cut the end off :)
Dust with a little sugar and there you have your apple turnovers . They last for upto 5 days in the fridge .

Saving this recipe to my cookbook! This looks so good and easy to make. I've been craving an apple pie this week, but I think I'll make this instead.
