I know I rave about Freida McFadden, but if you want an easy read, her books are the place to be. I have only read thrillers from here, so I'm not sure if she does any other genre but she writes so well and I have just finished another brilliant one from her.
Dead Med ...
"All I can think about is how pathetic it would be to die in the anatomy lab. The last thing I want is to become one of the dead bodies."
When Heather McKinley dreamed of becoming a doctor, she imagined curing sick kids and sporting pink stethoscopes. She never anticipated the sleepless nights, gruelling exams, and endless labs. And she certainly never knew that her medical school earned the nickname Dead Med thanks to the tragic history of students overdosing on illegal drugs.
But Heather would never consider doing anything like that. That is, until her longtime boyfriend dumps her, she finds herself failing anatomy, and her world starts to crumble.
Everyone has a breaking point.
Then, on the night before the final exam in anatomy, a shot rings out through the hallways of Dead Med.
The school has claimed yet another casualty. One of Heather's classmates has done the unthinkable, and before her desperate 911 call even connects, it will happen again.
And the night is just beginning.
Another book down and I really enjoyed this one. I loved following all the characters and their stories and was quite surprised with the ending. Dead Med was originally published as Suicide Med. Dead Med is a revision with 20% new material, i would love to know if you have read both and if the latest one is any better.
Sounds like Heather will be longing for SOS sooner rather than later. There's something to be said for 'boring.' :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good book! I've just finished reading Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow - not my typical read, but I really enjoyed it
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear your positive review on this book. I am a fan of Freida and I am looking forward to reading this.
ReplyDeleteThis is quite a summary. Sad premise, but the plot is probably more than that. So, the book could be enjoyable to read.
ReplyDeleteThriller genre isn't my jam but Dead Med sounds interesting. Thanks for introducing this book to me.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really intense book to read with a lot going on. It's a shame to have your dream changed and tragic things happening around that is intense.
