With only a few months left of 2025, I have found myself deep in reflection, all in my feels and looking back on how much has changed this year. Losing my Dad in June was the hardest thing I have ever gone through and changed me so much as a person. It’s a harsh reminder that we truly have only one life, and every moment matters.
Personal growth is so much more than ticking boxes or chasing 'perfect', it’s about becoming you. It’s a journey of learning, evolving, and finding the courage to live in alignment with who you truly are. Slow down, breathe, and remember that the best version of yourself is the most authentic one, not the one the world expects to see.
As a mum of three and a business owner, life moves fast, we are talking 100mph fast! :). I’m constantly juggling, planning, creating, and caring for others. Somewhere in that beautiful chaos, I realised I was forgetting to care for myself. That’s why I’ve been thinking about going on a global wellness retreat more recently. It's something I have wanted to do for years, a proper break from my everyday life, to pause, think, and reconnect with myself.
It’s not about escaping; it’s about giving myself the space to breathe and figure out what really matters.
Taking Time to Reflect
I imagine a retreat giving me the chance to slow down in a way I rarely get at home. Just time to think, process, and take stock without distractions. Life doesn’t leave much space for that, and I think that’s where real personal growth starts, in those quiet moments where you actually check in with yourself and enjoy a warm drink, and maybe hear your own thoughts :)
Simply spending time in nature might sound small, but it’s the kind of thing that helps you reset, and my life is so busy I give so much to everyone else that I forget to refill my own tank. Taking time to rest and recharge isn’t selfish; it’s 100% necessary if I want to show up as the best version of me.
The Global Retreat Company is an amazing platform that curates some of the world’s best retreats, whether it’s for personal growth, holistic health, or just a genuine reset away from the children. Each retreat is carefully reviewed and trusted, so you know you are choosing something worthwhile.
I think something like this would make the perfect Christmas gift, something that means so much more than the usual fluffy socks and chocolate bar. You come back feeling lighter, recharged, and ready for another year of growth.
Here’s to finishing 2025 with reflection, intention, and a little bit of self-love and stepping into 2026 ready to grow, breathe, and be unapologetically ourselves.

I know what you mean about life going 100mph. I feel like it's only going to get faster in the run up to Christmas too. A retreat sounds amazing!
