A SUMMER WITH NCS TO REMEMBER FOR TEENS

My eldest daughter is in year 10 , i can't believe how quick the years have gone. She is very strong minded and works extremely hard at school. Over the past few months she has been a little anxious about her GCSE'S next year, and what she wants to do when she is older.

I believe experience is key when it comes to children and most importantly building life skills and the confidence they need to guide them through their adult life.

The National Citizen Service programme sounds like something Kadiann would absolutely love!. It is a government backed programme aimed at 16 and 17 year olds across England and Northern Ireland . It has been designed to help build a more cohesive, mobile and engaged society. By bringing together young people from different backgrounds for a once in a life time shared summer experience.

The 2-4 week programme takes place in the school holidays. It includes outdoor team building exercises, a residential for participants to learn 'life skills', a community based social action project and an end of programme celebration event.

      TO DATE

  • Almost 400,000 young people have taken part
  • More than 7 million hours of community action has been completed
  • For every £1 spent NCS' 2016 summer programme delivered between £1.15 and £2.42 of benefits back to society

NCS is amazing value for money. The whole experience, including food.travel and accommodation for only £50! Bursaries are available on a case by case basis, and support is also provided for young people with additional needs.

Kadiann and i have had a look on the site and she can not wait to sign up for this programme next year, we both know she is going to benefit from it so much.

There are still places available for  this summer. No matter what  commitments you might feel would hold your child back, the NCS will  ensure they find a spot for your teen that suits you . To sign up go to the NCS website.
