I don’t re decorate or spend an absoukate fortune . Just by adding some little touches to the home can really make a difference , so I thought I would share with you what I do to spruce up my living room for summer.
Candles for me are a big one . I know a lot of people don’t like using candles when it’s warm but I think the summer scents really get me in the mood for summer and leave the home smelling absolutely amazing. My favourite is sunset by Yankee candle , orange scents are my go to in the summer.
I change up my cushions and throws in the summer . Winter ones go in the cupboard, which are chocolate brown and green and are definitely colours that make you feel super cosy when it’s cold . I like to have brighter colours in the home around this time of the year , so lemon cushions and our gorgeous orange throw comes out.
I must admit, it is far to hot for any throws and blankets at the minute!. The heat wave we are having is incredible , and I promise I am not complaining :). The girls love making dens in the lounge to read their books in so the throws definitely come in handy for them :)
Flowers are a must in summer . We don’t tend to have flowers around the house all year round , but when the daffodils come up, they are my favourite to place on the mantelpiece , along with our orchids, that have probably seen better days, but hopefully the warmer weather will give it a kick up the butt :)
Wall decor is a bit of an obsession of mine . I love my pictures on the wall , and changing them up can definitely change the whole living room. I love floral and I am a sucker for anything that has a floral design on it .
We’ve been discussing making a feature wall in the lounge to give it that extra touch and can also add some shelves and any little trinkets. Wallsauce have some gorgeous wallpaper murals. The floral prints are my absolute favourite , but they have such a variety you could chose some out for every room in the home!
I hope this have given you a little inspiration for sprucing up your home for the summer . I’d love to hear any tips you have :)
