5 THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN CROATIA

Croatia is hands down a beautiful country. Having explored Split this year, I have loved some of the sightseeing and places we found on our travels and wanted to share some of the cool stuff we got up to whilst there.

GOLDEN CAPE BEACH

The beach is my happy place and I could spend all day with a book on there. Golden cape beach has been named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and it really is.

With everything you need to set up for the day here, beds to rent, toilets, changing areas, lots of places to eat and the best iced coffee around.

DIOCLETIAN'S PALACE

It's not often you see a Roman palace become such a fundamental and lived in part of a city right?. The palace the Roman emperor Diocletian built for himself in the second century soon fell into ruin and by the Middle Ages had become colonised by shops and apartments.

It is still very breath taking and the history behind it all is incredible.

TASTE TESTING AT THE OLIVE OIL MUSEUM

Museju, which is the Olive Oil Museum in Skrip. This was one of my favourite things I did when in Croatia. A warm welcome followed by a 20 minute tour of how Olive Oil is made , established in 1864, was so interesting, something I had never seen before.

After the tour you can add on a tasting session upstairs where you can indulge in a delicious spread of bread, olive oil, marmalade, cheese, fish - it was divine!.

BRAVE THE SKY WALK BIOKOVO

I braved the sky walk, not only sky walked, but took my time and had plenty of pictures and video footage to go with it, it was incredible and what an experience if you love a bit of an adrenaline rush and enjoy something a little different.

The glass horseshoe shaped platform hovers at 1228m in the Biokovo Nature park. It takes a while to get up there but once there the view is out of this world. You can see the Adriatic islands in the distance and the mountains.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Yes, you can go horseback riding in Croatia and what an exciting activity to plan. A two hour experience where you get to meet your horse and the guide, ride along the trail and end with homemade delacacies, wine and fruit juices.

I will be doing this with the children the next time I am in Croatia, we love horses and I have the buzz for it now. Have you ever rode a horse?.

Have you ever been to Split?
