I bet when you think of Benidorm it isn't a family holiday with children right?. I am with you on that one and when my partner booked Benidorm for our summer holiday, I thought, Oh god, party life and full of drunken hen do's, but there is much more to Benidorm than that.
Benidorm has lots to offer for families with children, of all ages. My children range from ages 21 to 7 and have all loved the city.
SHORT FLIGHT
If you know, you know. Children and long flights really do not mix. Our longest flight anywhere has been nearly 5 hours on our family holiday to Turkey and that was torture for the children. Short travel time of just over 2 hours, just enough time for a movie on the iPad and some snacks - perfect!.
WATER PARKS
The water parks in Benidorm are some of Europe's best!. Aqualandia has fifteen water rides, adapted to all ages. Like Aqualand Tenerife, we didn't have enough time to go around this park. It has the highest standing slide in Europe and the world's highest capsule slide - safe to say we didn't go on them!. I hate vertical drops!.
Adventureland, which Nila loved. Slides, water guns, a little water ball pit, which we hadn't seen anywhere we had been before and lots of entertaining slides that kept Nila happy.
Mezz and Lessie had a blast on the smooth slides and went down super fast. Nila and I were waiting for them at the end in absolute fits of laughter. Lessie and I really enjoyed the rapids and went on them a few times, we couldn't breathe for laughing and lost each other along the way.
ANIMAL PARKS
Mundomar is an animal park right next to Aqualandia which we didn't have time to go to but it is on our list for next time. The park has different species of mammals, birds and reptiles as well as special experiences like swimming with sea lions and dolphins.
BEACHES
With golden sands and beautiful seas, the beach is my happy place and they are stunning in Benidorm. Playa Levante is the perfect combination of relaxing as well as lots of fun in inflatable water sports for the children, situated by the old town.
GIRLS SHOPPING DAY
The old Town has a ton of shops for the children. We had a girl's day out and they were in awe of all the stuff. Ale hop, if you know, you know, full to the brim of stuff. With the pirate pick 'n' mix candy shop and slushy machines, we had a full day out and it was so fun.
If you have been thinking about Benidorm with children and feeling unsure I would definitely recommend it.
