MUM GUILT & THE PERFECT HALF TERM RESET

This week has been a lot! I’ll always feel blessed to work for myself and have the flexibility to take time off when needed, but sometimes my workload is so heavy that stepping away feels impossible.

It’s been a week of juggling time with the kids, extra client work, and stressing over my driving test. The joys of being an overthinker—I’ve definitely felt stuck in fight-or-flight mode. So, a proper day out was seriously needed.

The Perfect Girls’ Day Out

Last night, we planned our girls' day out: Starbucks, followed by Mufasa, and then an afternoon of shopping. My girls love to shop, and they definitely take after me! Even window shopping gives us that little boost of happiness. Honestly, just stepping into Lush, taking a deep breath, and smelling all the amazing scents makes me one happy bunny!.

I had been asking Nila to come and see Mufasa with me for weeks, and she finally caved. She was so glad she did—what a film! I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, but if you haven’t, go watch it. So, so good!.

After the film, we grabbed a cheeky Greggs—a must-have whenever we're in town. For Nila, it’s either a classic sausage roll or a pizza slice, her go-to staples.

Next stop: the toy shop. This time, my girl went all out! She spent her money on exactly what she wanted. Nila LOVES teddies and cuddlies, but since we already have over 50 stuffed in her wardrobe, we had to find a compromise.

She spotted some adorable surprise balls—tiny cuddly toys, no bigger than a finger. She was over the moon when she unwrapped the unicorn one she had her heart set on. It even came with a mini baby bottle—so cute!.

We thought about having a browse in Primark, but as soon as she saw the sign, "Not this shop! I hate it!"Honestly? I don’t blame her. Does anyone else find Primark ridiculously stressful? Ten minutes in there, and I’m hot, bothered, and ready to escape!.

We came home with some lovely goodies and, more importantly, some much-needed one-on-one time. It was the perfect way to reset after such a hectic week.

  6. I love spending the day with my girl too, although it always costs me a lot in the clothes shops :)
