WHAT I'M READING | DEATH ROW | FREIDA MCFADDEN

Patiently waiting for her new book to be released, and I saw this short story on Kindle Unlimited and thought, why not. One thing I will say about Freida's books, whether I loved the story or plot twists in them, they are always straight in there with something hooking you just after a few pages; they are the kind of books I love.

DEATH ROW....

Talia Kemper is on death row for murdering her husband. She had an alibi and no known motive, yet Talia’s unwavering protestations of innocence have always been ignored. Then one day in the visiting area, she sees a recognisable stranger she’s certain is her husband. It turns out the man she’s been convicted of killing may not be dead after all. But as the days tick away toward Talia’s execution, what will it take for her to be believed?

I really enjoyed this story, right up until the end. She leaves things open to interpretation, almost letting the reader decide what the “real” ending might be. Personally, I prefer a sharper, shocking finale, the kind that makes you gasp and immediately want to talk about it. Still, this little read broke me out of a reading funk, and for that, I am glad I picked it up.

Have you read this one? Do you like ambiguous endings, or do you prefer the jaw-dropping kind of twist?

Have you read this one? What did you think
