When it comes to family holidays, we have tried a fair few destinations over the years, but nothing pulls us back quite like Kusadasi in Turkey. It’s the kind of place that gets under your skin in the best way, a mix of sunshine, food, fun, and that feeling of being truly welcome. Honestly, for us, it has become like a holiday home from home. We know it like the back of our hand now, we feel safe there, and just being in Kusadasi makes us happy.
A Familiar Kind of Magic
There’s something comforting about arriving somewhere and instantly knowing your way around. No stress, no fumbling with maps, you know?, Just slipping straight back into the rhythm of things. Kusadasi has that effect on us. Whether it’s strolling down to the beach, grabbing an iced coffee at our favourite spot, or heading straight for Aqua Fantasy Waterpark a family must-do every time, it feels so natural. The familiarity makes it relaxing, but somehow it never gets boring.
Family-Friendly Fun for All Ages
One of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is how well Kusadasi caters for families. Aqua Fantasy alone is worth the trip, with slides for the daredevils, splash zones for the little ones, and the lazy river, our favourite, where you can just float and soak up the sun. Add in boat trips, kids’ clubs, and evening entertainment, and there’s never a dull moment. The kids are always entertained, and as a parent, that’s priceless.
Food That Feels Like Part of the Holiday
Every trip comes with its own little “food memories,” and Turkey never disappoints. From grilled koftas and fresh seafood to baklava that tastes like heaven, the variety is endless. Nila discovered her love for seafood here, and I don’t think a holiday goes by without Alessia asking for peach ice tea :). Food isn’t just a necessity in Kusadasi, it’s part of the joy of being there.
Sunshine and Smiles
Let’s not forget the weather because Kusadasi really delivers on sunshine. For a sun-worshipper like me, it’s pure bliss. Days spent on the beach with a book, evenings filled with laughter, and that golden glow you bring home, it all adds to the magic, currently looking like a golden goddess from our recent stay :). On top of that, the hospitality in Turkey is second to none. The warmth of the people makes you feel instantly at ease, and they go above and beyond to make families feel welcome.
Why We Will Always Go Back
So why do we keep choosing Kusadasi, when there are so many places in the world we haven’t yet explored? Because sometimes, the best holidays aren’t about chasing somewhere new. They are about finding that one place where you feel safe, happy, and at home, and for us, that place is Kusadasi. It’s our little slice of sunshine, and we will keep going back for as long as we can.
