WHERE TO EAT IN MÁLAGA | A FOOD LOVER'S ITINERARY

Málaga is definitely a city for food lovers. I spent four days here with Jet2city breaks, and honestly, my trip revolved around eating my way through the city, happy woman right there :). From tapas bars to tacos and wine tours, every meal, hand on heart, was a 10/10, so I wanted to put together a little Málaga food itinerary for anyone planning a visit, because I'd love one of these when visiting a new place

If you are visiting Málaga and wondering where to eat and drink, this one’s for you.

Lunch at Tragata

We kicked things off with lunch at Tragata. We were all really hungry, and this place hit the spot.  A lovely menu and the tapas selection did not disappoint. The ham croquettes were really nice, and I was obsessed with the padrón peppers; the saltiness of them was delish!.

This is also where I tried my first-ever Tinto de Verano (aka summer red wine). It’s made with red wine and lemon Fanta, and let me tell you, it's dangerously good. Light, refreshing, and perfect for Málaga’s sunshine.

Tejeringos Coffee Break

If you are heading out to explore Andalusia or planning a visit to the bullring museum, make a stop at Tejeringos Coffee. We spent quite a few hours here and needed to refuel. I was hangry at this point! :)

I had a classic ham and cheese toastie with the most refreshing mango and orange iced tea, exactly what you need after wandering around in the heat. Really affordable too.

Dinner at Mexicano

Mexicano was an absolute 10/10. From the colourful Mexican theme to the food, everything was spot on.

Think tacos, burritos, endless fresh guacamole and chips. We had such an incredible dinner here, and it was one of those meals where everything just keeps getting better. We ended up making our own Mexican tapas and had a bit of everything, sharing is caring right :)

Casa Lola

We truly outdid ourselves at Casa Lola. I’m talking about the biggest tapas selection ordered known to man, and yes, every single plate was worth it.

This place is really busy, quite a popular restaurant to eat at, loads of air con, which felt incredible!

We tried all sorts here, fried aubergine, which looked like French fries, really tasty, more croquettes, we ended up croquette queens at the end of this trip. The most delicious garlic prawns, too; the tapas were overflowing.

Traditional Andalusian Tapas & Wine Tour

If you are going anywhere in Spain, a tapas tour is a must, and when you add wine to the mix,  it's an Elite combo.

We joined a Traditional Andalusian Tapas and Wine Tour, and it was brilliant. The tapas were delicious, the local wines were incredible, and our guide was so lovely and knowledgeable. It turned into such a fun and memorable evening, making friends with the other people on the tour, too.

We learned about some of Málaga’s oldest wineries, tasted authentic local dishes, and really soaked up the history. I love stuff like this. I was in my element. The wine was a little stronger than I usually go for, so let’s just say I was happily merry by the end of the night

If you are  planning a trip to Málaga and love your food as much as I do, I’d 100% recommend these places, can't wait to go back, mostly for the croquettes and Tinto de Verano :)
