A DAY AT TRENTHAM GARDENS IN STAFFORDSHIRE

Trentham Gardens is somewhere I haven’t been in years. The last time I visited was when I was working with BlogOn, exploring Stoke-on-Trent and showcasing what the area has to offer. This time was a little different. My mum has been staying with us for the week, and we fancied a proper girls day out, and my mum has never been, plus we needed somewhere to go as I was working on a project too, so it was a win-win :)

We started off in the shopping village, which is just outside the gardens and is honestly such a lovely place in itself. If you have never been before, it’s full of little independent shops, cafés, and places to grab food, so it’s worth a nosey before you head into the gardens.

We had a good look around and ended up finding a shop full of Jellycats. I did resist, but I’m now on a mission to find a pickle one! If you know, you know.

We had lunch first, I have been slightly obsessed with cheese toasties lately, and this one was a caramelised onion cheddar toastie,  unreal. A solid 10/10. Proper comfort food and exactly what you want before heading out for a long walk around Trentham.

After that, we made our way into the gardens and walked everywhere you could, think Alice in Wonderland, we did get lost! :)

If you are looking for a walk in Staffordshire, that’s easy, this is such a good one. It’s flat, well-kept, and perfect whether you are going with family, friends, or just want a bit of fresh air with the dog!.

One of my favourite parts is all the little fairy sculptures. They are so pretty, and I love that each one has its own name and meaning; it just makes the whole place feel a bit more magical.

The barefoot walk is something I have wanted to try for years, and somehow I still didn’t manage it this time. Just as we were getting round to it, the rain started, so we headed back and grabbed a hot tea instead. Not exactly what we planned, but still a good excuse to warm up :)

You could honestly spend all day here. Whether you are going for a relaxed walk with a coffee in hand or a full family day out in Staffordshire, it is a great place. With Easter half-term coming up, it would be such a good option, pack a picnic, take the kids, and make a proper day of it, the parks are brilliant!.

It was one of those simple days that you don’t realise you need until you have had it. Good food, a long walk, and just a proper catch-up.

I definitely won’t be leaving it years before visiting again
