BACK TO SCHOOL WITH KICKERS | SCHOOL SHOES THAT ACTUALLY LAST

 It’s that time again already! Honestly, where did those six weeks go? One minute we are breaking up for summer and the next I’m checking uniform lists, buying new bags and wondering how the children have managed to grow out of absolutely everything they owned six weeks ago. Children are expensive, right?!

One thing that is always pretty high up on the back to school and college must haves list shopping list is a decent pair of school shoes, and this year we’ve teamed up with Kickers to get the girls ready for September.

Kickers are pretty much the OG when it comes to school shoes. I remember them from when I was younger, and they are still going strong now- not the shoes, the brand :), although there are definitely a lot more styles to choose from these days.

We were kindly sent two pairs from the latest Kickers Back to School collection, which has also had a little comfort upgrade this year. The majority of the new collection now features OrthoLite insoles, including some of their classic and most popular styles, giving feet extra cushioning and support throughout the school day.

Considering the kids are wearing their school shoes all day, five days a week, comfort is definitely important. Let’s face it, they don’t exactly gently stroll around the playground in them either, do they?

This is the big one for me because there is nothing worse than buying brand new school shoes in September and looking at them a month later, wondering why they look a year old already!

Both pairs we received feel really sturdy and well made, without being too heavy or uncomfortable for everyday wear. With the added OrthoLite insoles across the majority of the collection this year, it feels like they’ve really thought about comfort as well as making shoes that can survive a school day.

Obviously I care about comfort, support and whether their school shoes are going to survive longer than five minutes. The girls, on the other hand, care about whether they look nice. Apparently everyone has opinions now, so the days of me just picking a pair of school shoes and putting them in the basket are long gone.

Thankfully, Kickers have loads of different school shoe styles to choose from, from those classic Kickers designs we all know to more modern styles for older kids. Both girls are really happy with the pairs they chose and they look really smart too, so that’s another thing ticked off the never ending back to school list. 

I’m sure there will be something I’ve forgotten, plus the inevitable PE kit that goes missing three days into term, but at least their feet are sorted! :)
