When half term hits we always go and spend some time in Norfolk with my parents who live in Martham.
Visit Great Yarmouth have got so much to offer for the family over the holidays and we have definitely been busy bees this half term.
Started off with a morning at the Sealife centre on Marine Parade . We love it here and have been quite a few times. This time round we experienced their Ascarium!. Completely spooked out for Halloween and was incredible.
We did the trick or treat challenge and the girls got some sweets and a medal - always a bonus :)
We also met a witch and got to touch a real life starfish!.
We stopped for lunch and then headed to Pleasure Beach on beach parade. The sun was on our side so was the perfect day to spend there.
We honestly had the best afternoon ever. The girls and my mum and dad went on so many rides. There is something for absolutely everyone.
Our favourite had to be the 4D cinema - it was fantastic!. I won’t spoilt it for you but we watched a Halloween spooky themed show and when the vampire sneezed, you got wet! :)
Tuesday afternoon we went to see Halloween spooktacular at the Hippodrome circus on St George’s street. We’ve never been before and we use to live in Great Yarmouth 10 years ago but never got round to visiting.
What a show!. We were all hooked. The acting and the engaging with the audience, the whole show from start to finish was so much fun.
Nila is 5 and I wasn’t sure if she would sit still for the whole duration, but she was mesmerised. We had ice cream and the girls got a flashing light wand and we really had such a blast.
They also have a museum at the back with all the old circus stuff and props the hippodrome have used over the years - even the old school clown boots!.
We ended our stay with Merrivale Model Village on Marine Parade. Its the only little people village I have come across.
The work and detail that has gone into the village is remarkable and it was lovely spotting some of Great Yarmouth in the little displays.
Of course it was Halloween kitted out with ghouls and spooks. We also did some mini crazy golf and they also had a little pumpkin patch which was a nice touch .
We’ve had a lovely fun filled half term at Great Yarmouth and can’t wait to visit again :)

ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun trip you had in Great Yarmouth. The circus looks like good fun, I've not been to one in years and years x
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love minigolf. It's always so much fun even though I tend to lose most of the time
