5 WAYS TO BUILD HEALTHY HABITS

Building habits are actually easy, if you think about your day to day life.Wake up and make your morning coffee, watching your Friday favourite series without fail, or the most obvious, brushing your teeth. Habits are easier than you think so why is it so hard to build healthy habits that are so important for us .

The reason is, we think big and drastic - 5K runs everyday just aren't going to cut it if you want to incorporate exercise into a healthy habit. No chocolate diet, by day 3 you are in the cupboard and eaten a sharing bar of galaxy.

Start small.Healthy habits are things that you would like to start introducing to your days that make you feel good and they are tailored to you and what you need.

My five ways to build healthy habits ...

ORGANISE YOUR WEEK

I love an organised week.Anyone that knows me, knows Sunday evenings I organise the week ahead and it makes my head feel less cluttered, ready to smash a great week and everything is planned out, free time, play dates etc . I work from home, freelance and have the girls off next week during the summer holidays, so it is essential ,more than ever now, to make sure my week is planned out :)

MOVE YOUR BODY

I am a gym girl through and through and it really keeps my heart happy. I currently have a PT and train at the gym 6 days a week, but just moving my body every day is something I started over a year ago and now is part of my routine.Wake up, have my coffee and work out.

FUEL YOUR BODY

Food is fuel, it took me a long time to figure this out. There is no such thing as bad foods. Your body needs good food to fuel it and I have loved over the past year experimenting with different dinner ideas, breakfasts and desserts. I have a high protein diet for muscle growth and have enjoyed making some delicious desserts with the protein world goodies. Some of my go to bits from there I have ordered every month which I made my protein banoffee granolawith, a great breakfast idea for the summer and perfect for meal prepping.

GET OUTSIDE

Fresh air is so good for the soul and I make sure I get outside every single day. Even if its in the garden with a coffee. I have on more than one occasion sat on my door step and just taken 5 minutes to breath - it works, and works for me, remember, start small .

ENJOY YOUR LIFE

This is a given you are probably thinking right?, but life is so busy. We wake up, take the kids to School, start work, finish work, get the kids, make dinner, reading, baths and then crash, we all do it and I know life is busy and tiring but I woke up one morning and thought, I am not actually living.

Enjoy your life. I go on solo dates and take myself to the cinema on my days off. I get myself a treat bowl and snuggle in bed with Netflix, instead of working 'a bit more', which I use to always do. Life is fun, and I make time for that.

I would love to know what your healthy habits are, and if you are struggling, let me know, I am sure we can come up with some together.
