5 THINGS TO DO THIS SUMMER IN STAFFORDSHIRE FOR £5 AND UNDER

Keeping the cost down in the summer holidays is sometimes harder than you think right?. Especially if you have more than one little one and everything is double or more.I’ve been on the hunt for things to do for under a fiver, I love a challenge and I have managed to find some really cool and fun things to do with the children that isn’t going to break the bank.

DANCE WORKSHOP

All the dance lovers out there The Gruffalo dance workshop at Mitchell Arts Centre in Hanley looks a brilliant afternoon for little ones aged 6 and over. The perfect opportunity to  get their bodies moving to the music and exploring animal movements.

Its on Wednesday 26th July at 1.30pm - Parents are welcome to leave or wait nearby. Get yourself a coffee and enjoy a well deserved hour to relax :)

KIDS CINEMA CLUB

Kids club at the cinema is a great way to enjoy the movies on a budget. Mini mornings at the VUE are £2.49 per ticket and have some great movies on at the minute ,including the Super Mario Brothers. Cineworld has movie for juniors which is £2.25 and the odeon has kids club tickets for £3.25.

Pack some snacks from home. I love doing the girls a pick and mix from home, so popcorn, sweets and some chocolate buttons in a zip bag, pop in my bag with some fruit shoots and we are good to go :)

SWIMMING

Fingers and toes crossed we have some lovely days where we can get the paddling pool out in the garden, but if not, Dimensions in Tunstall is a great place for a swimming session.

Child entry is £5, adult is £6, but a lovely swimming pool, with on site soft play, cafe, coffee and a super cool dragon slide as well as slides and splash pads for toddlers. Ring up to book 01782233500.

LIBRARY KIDS CRAFT CLUB

We love crafts and Nila can spend hours making up some fantastic bits at home with all the recycled stuff we keep for a rainy day- we are having a lot of them, when is summer actually going to start?.

Biddulph library has a kids craft club on 22nd August from 10.30-12pm for £1!. Have a morning off from cleaning up all the glitter and let the library do that for you :) .Booking is essential, number is 01782485491 or email them at biddulph.library@staffordshire.gov.uk.

SHAKES ON THE ROCKS

Shakes on the rocks in Biddulph Moor is somewhere we've not been before and is on our summer bucket list this year. A self service milkshake machine with a view. Picnic benches so pack some lunch and enjoy an afternoon sipping on some really cool flavours!. Weekly special flavours include blueberry muffin, creme egg and even mint chocolate, all from £1.50.

During the summer they have pony rides for £5. I went to Croatia last month and did horseback riding, ever since, the girls have been asking if they can get to ride a horse, I can not wait to take them here.

Pony ride times are:

Wednesday 2nd August 10.30 - 12.30
Tuesday 15th August 10.30 - 12.30
Tuesday 22nd August 10.30 - 12.30
Wednesday 30th August 10.30 - 12.30

Rides are £5. They also doing lessons too , which I think the girls would really enjoy!.

Id love to know if you have any fun things planned or booked any of the above. I also have some really cool free things you can do in Staffordshire this summer, get your diary out and plan some free and affordable days out :)
