THINGS TO DO IN NORFOLK | HIPPODROME CIRCUS

Last year we went to see the Halloween Spooktacular at the Hippodrome circus and loved it so much, we were excited to come back this summer on our holidays and see The Summer Circus and Water Spectacular.

HIPPODROME CIRCUS

George Gilbert, the legendary circus showman built the Hippodrome circus in 1903. Fun fact - it remains one of the only two purpose built permanent circus buildings in England and is one of three in the world where the circus floor sinks to create a swimming pool, so cool!.

The swimming pool part was the thing we was most excited to see, as I had heard some great reviews and wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

SUMMER CIRCUS ACTS

The show included lots of acts from all over the world. The Rhythm Circus Company from Aruba, who also performed on America's Got Talent .Along with other brilliant acts - jugglers, dancers, acrobats and even bike acts, which scared the living day lights out of me, definitely had us all on the edge of our seats, was excellent.

THE WATER SPECTACULAR

As I said before, the water spectacular was something we were really intrigued with and couldn't wait to watch. it was outstanding. The arena transforms into a huge swimming pool right in front of you. I was wondering what was happening, but there in front of you, the water fountains are on and the next thing you know , the floor lowers and then the swimmers come in, out of this world.

The swimmers had a full swimming pool to dance, swim and dive, if you have never seen the water spectacular before, then it is one not to be missed.

RINGMASTER JACK AND HIS SIDEKICK JOHNNY

The show hosts, Ringmaster Jack and his side kick Jonny were fantastic!. I have got to say, my favourite part of the show for me has to be Johnny. He is SO funny every time, and Nila thinks he is absolutely hilarious.

They have the crowd eating out of their hands, and play such an important part in the whole show. Be careful, as they are not afraid to use water in their jokes, and Johnny really enjoys himself, if you know, you know :)

SNACKS AND INTERVAL

You have a 20 minute interval where you can purchase popcorn, ice cream, drinks and snacks. They also have a cafe open for refreshments and cake. We got some slushy drinks which were £2.50, ice cream tubs were £2 and the light up wands were £6.

Enough time for a quick snack and toilet break, although there can be a queue for the toilets so get to the toilet first :)

It’s been an amazing show and will definitely come again!.
