Finding things we all want to do can be hard sometimes too, especially with the age gap between the younger two, Nila is 6 and Alessia is 14, but one thing they both love is art and getting creative.
A few years ago I worked with Blogon Visits and went to the Emma Bridgewater studio in Hanley, Stoke On Trent and loved it. I am a big fan of mugs, if you know, you know, and their mugs are the loveliest. I have quite a collection now and of course, it is ever-growing.
I was having a look at festive things to do in December in my area and Emma Bridgewater came up, perfect!.
You book your slot at £2.95 each and then get to choose from an array of pottery to decorate whilst there. Your slot is 1 1/2 hours and you have free range of all the paints and equipment in that time.
When I say it is the most cosiest place and so relaxing. Full of Christmas light, the Christmas music was playing and it was honestly the calm we needed in this hectic festive period.
Nila chose a cereal bowl, Alessia chose a 1/2 pint mug and I picked out a small pasta bowl. Prices range from £10 and include egg cups, plates and even a teapot!.
I popped a few Lindt chocolates in my bag and we had some little treats while making our masterpieces. Alessia was so invested and made a lovely sky scene. I went with the Emma Bridgewater classic polka dots and Nila had it all going on, flowers, faces, and love hearts, the man came over and said how fantastic it was which made her smile.
We finished up and took a look at the Christmas trees outside all light up, it was a magical evening, KFC treats for dinner and then we headed home to open our advent calendars before bed.
If you can find anywhere like this in your area or you are close by then i would really recommend it. Pieces can be picked up or sent to you in the post and the wait at the minute with Xmas season is 14 days.
Your post inspired me to take my kids there next town we are in town, and I know we will have the most wonderful time.
