BUILD A BEAR AND LUSH FAIL

We have already established my obsession with lush. If you follow me on Instagram then you will know I have been back and forth on the lush website to see if any of their Boxing Day sale pieces have gone back on.

This usually happens every few days with stock from all the stores returning to the warehouse and then being placed online. I got quite a few extra bits in last year's Lush sale but I am happy with what I picked up this time around in-store and definitely have lots of pamper treats to last me the year :)

Saying that, I heard that the Trafford Centre Lush store in Manchester had a ton of Christmas sale stock, including the gift sets that I had wanted so it was road trip time!.

Nila and I are under the weather, someone has to be over Christmas right?, so this evening we were watching YouTube in bed early, and she came across a Build a Bear video and asked if she could spend her Christmas money there as we were due to go into town tomorrow anyway for an hour. One, to get out and get a bit of fresh air and two, none of us are sleeping very well so I thought getting out might do the trick.

We dont actually have a Build a Bear in our town, but they do have one in the Trafford centre so this was definitely a win-win situation, well I had hoped.

The Trafford Centre is about 50 minutes from us so we headed there after breakfast. The weather at the minute is horrendous, pouring it down with rain every day, always miserable after Christmas isn't it in the UK, roll on some dry days, we all could do with a lovely long, dry walk.

Straight to Lush as it was before Build a Bear. Unfortunately, there wasn't much sale stuff, none that I hadn't already purchased on Boxing Day, which was a little disappointing, but I am counting it as a sign that I dont actually need any more bits and what I already bought is plenty :)

Next year this kind of mindset is something I really want to focus on as it is pretty life-changing. I got the five-minute journal for Christmas and I haven't used it yet, but I have read all the introduction and this way of thinking and living is 10/10!.

On to Build a Bear and Nila was in awe!. So many bears to choose from, and I knew she would go for a typical bear. She loves her cuddlies and really does cherish them. She chose an old-school keepsake bear, no clothes as he wouldn't be comfy to cuddle apparently, which I totally agree with.

She helped stuff Mr Snuggles, gave him a heart and left with a big smile on her face.

Nila has recently started enjoying sushi so we went to yo! sushi for lunch as a little treat, she loved it and had 5 plates!. It is great for kids as they feel so independent helping themselves to the food.

We headed back home afterwards, as we didn't need anything else and I really want to save as much as I can next year rather than buy things for the sake of it,

It has been a lvoely imprompt day, so happy we have managed to get out of the house but I am ready for some more cold flu tablets and snuggles in bed.

  1. I can relate to thish post so much, especially the end. I've been using more cold and flu medicine than I'd like this season!

  2. I always say that if you can't find a sale it means you didn't really need it! LOL.

  3. Such a wonderful outing with your child. These are the memories our children hold dearest. You've inspired me to take my own to a Build a Bear workshop! Stephanie

  4. Sounds like you had a fantastic shopping adventure! The Lush sale finds sound like a pampering delight, and it's great that you're well-stocked for the year. The road trip to the Trafford Centre added an exciting twist, especially with the possibility of snagging those Christmas sale items you had your eye on. Even though the Lush sale didn't yield much this time, it's wonderful that Nila's Build a Bear adventure turned out to be a win-win. Hope you both feel better soon, and here's to dry days and lovely walks ahead
