If you are planning a stay at Richardson’s Holiday Park in Hemsby, you are in for such a treat, not just because the park itself is brilliant. There are loads of amazing family attractions nearby, perfect for keeping everyone happy no matter their age, and trust me, with an 8-year-old and a 22-year-old, I know the age gap struggle can be real! :)
Here’s a round-up of some of our favourite things to do near Richardson’s Holiday Park that can make your trip even more special:
The Hippodrome Circus
We absolutely love the Hippodrome Circus; it has honestly become a tradition for us now. We go every year and it never disappoints. The acrobats, comedy, and the surprise water show are just amazing. A proper old-school experience with a magical twist.
Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach
This is one of those places where the whole family actually has fun, which is rare with big age gaps!. Roller coaster rides for the bigger kids, to the fairytale snail for the younger ones, Pleasure Beach is packed with so much fun. Wristband entry gets you in all day, and you can come and go as you please :)
SEA LIFE Centre
Another great one for all ages. The SEA LIFE Centre has everything from sharks to starfish, and the walk-through tunnel is amazing. Nila loves the rockpool section, and we all find something to enjoy.
Money-saving tip: Look out for 2-for-1 offers on cereal boxes. We have used them a few times, and it really helps keep costs down!
Beach Day
You can’t stay in Hemsby and not go to the beach. Whether you fancy a quiet paddle at Hemsby Beach or want the full arcades and donkey rides at Great Yarmouth, there’s nothing like a seaside day out. I love the beach!.
Hirsty’s Family Fun Park
Just down the road from Richardson’s, Hirsty’s is ideal for letting the kids run wild. From go-karts and bouncy pillows to obstacle courses and new stuff almost every year, it’s great fun. Pack a picnic or get lunch there, it's a full day out.
Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens
Such a lovely day out. Thrigby Hall has tigers, monkeys, red pandas, and walkways high in the trees that give you a really cool view of the animals. We love a zoo day trip, and the Meerkats here are the cutest ones we havce ever seen!.
Merrivale Model Village
This one’s super cute and surprisingly detailed. Merrivale Model Village is full of tiny buildings, moving trains, and little surprises around every corner. A slower-paced outing that we all found really charming.
Arc Cinema
A perfect, slow-chilled day is a cinema session. So many good movies on at the minute too and most of them family friendly. Pick up some popconr and spend the afternoon relaxing with a good film
We had such a lovely time both in and outside of the park. If you are heading to Richardson’s Holiday Park, don’t forget to explore :)
It looks like there is plenty to do nearby! I love a Sealife Centre - my daughter keeps asking if we can go to one soon. It is great that you can see all these places and have a great base to go back to.
