The funk I have been feeling lately is next level. I’m not sure if it’s the “glorious” UK weather, total sarcasm there, or if I am just in one of those moods, but I have been determined to make sure this half term doesn’t go to waste. It really doesn’t have to be expensive either. We have had such lovely days out that haven’t cost a penny.
We had a car lunch date, literally what it sounds like!. We picked up some lunch from Aldi, sat in the car with a movie on my phone, and honestly, we absolutely loved it. We had been meaning to do this for a few weeks, and what a fab idea Nila had, would defo recommend!.
We have also enjoyed a million scooter rides, park afternoons, Starbucks dates, and a trip to the library.
Today, we went into town for an afternoon of crafts and sweets. It was a £3 entry thing in one of the shops, and Nila got to make a sweet cone, colour, make some bracelets, and have cake! It was really lovely, and I’m glad we went. They do quite a lot of other activities during half-term too, so we will definitely be keeping an eye out for them.
We also went to the cinema. I had 2 tickets for £8 Odeon voucher, so we treated ourselves to a Costa, some banana muffins before seeing Goat. It was such a good film, and I really love making memories like this, plus the cinema is my favourite thing to do!!.
I love spending time with my girls, whether it’s simple things at home like crafting or playing Roblox, or going on shopping dates. I really do love my kids, and yes, I know that probably sounds obvious, but I really do.
Half term has been amazing so far, and I’m loving every moment with them.
How’s your half-term going?

The simpel things are always the best, in my opinion. That's when it's most personal and memorable.
ReplyDeleteI have always found that the simplest outings are the best. It's hard to make memories when you're fighting lines or crowds.
ReplyDeleteAs you said, it is often the small, genuine stuff that we end up remembering rather than expensive, big events. What you described is a perfect day imo.
ReplyDeleteWe do need to tighten our belts a lot more and we have some big expenses coming up. The craft activity in the shop you went to sounds great and well priced - such a good idea to keep kids entertained and having fun!
ReplyDeleteAh, so cool. I actually had a blast with the scooter rides, too. Never thought it would be so much fun. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCar lunch dates with snacks from the shops are such a fun way to kill time without spending a fortune. Taking the girls for crafts and movies creates the best memories anyway. My kids always prefer these simple afternoons.
ReplyDeleteI do think all of the grey weather gets to me as well. Sounds like you really made the most of it though!
ReplyDeleteThese are such great ideas and love that it does n to break the bank and we all need to try and do more things like this. I love sometimes just going for a drive and finding a cool spot to eat somewhere new.... and love the idea of getting food at Aldi and enjoying a movie in the car!
