The sun is shining today, and it really does feel like spring is finally on its way. I love being outside – it’s so grounding, and being outdoors in the sunshine always puts such a smile on my face. It completely changes my mood, I've even picked up some ice today, iced coffees here I come! :)

Capturing memories with pictures has been part of my life for a very long time. I honestly think it stems from my uncle Kevin loving photography and often showing me his cameras and how film is developed. For the past eight years, it’s also been my full-time job and I love it.
There’s something about this year that’s making me want to take better care of myself. I turn 40 in April, and let me tell you, your girl burns herself out daily. Freelancing while raising kids means I am always switched on, always thinking about the next thing, and then I wonder why I’m crashing by 7pm, ready for bed like I have run a marathon.
Time away from the girls is something I really struggle with. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I get overwhelming mum guilt and feel awful whenever I’m not with them. Over the last few years, I’ve worked with Jet2 and been away with them every year, and the children understand that I’m away for work. That feels different, almost justified.

The weather in the UK is cold, to say the least. We are still going through the trenches of winter, and it can be miserable. Finding things to do with the kids can be expensive, the cost of living is wild right now, parks are wet, it’s raining most days, and money is tight.
January is here, and I already have so many plans for the house. I don’t know what it is about a new year, but it just screams revamp the home to me. Not a full 360 obviously, my bank balance would absolutely not cope, but I really believe it’s the small changes that give a home a whole new lease of life.
Another one on my Kindle that I'm trying to get through. The quickest book on the plane, 50 pages, sometimes I love a short story, can i class this as book number three of the year? :) . An evening of reading and a nice hot cup of tea.
Coming from a home where my mum loved to read, I definitely know where my love for books comes from. Getting stuck into a good book with a cup of tea is honestly one of my favourite things to do, and seeing my mum reading while I was growing up is without a doubt the reason I still read today.
