A SIMPLE 40TH BIRTHDAY GETAWAY WITH MY GIRLS

Some birthdays call for big celebrations, but for my 40th, honestly, all I really wanted was some time away, time to breathe, and time with the girls. Life behind the scenes has been a little hectic lately, so a night away to celebrate my birthday with my favourite people, with no big expectations, was exactly what I needed.

WHAT I'M READING | WHAT MY MOTHER HID | DANIEL HURST

Slowly getting through the books I downloaded on my Kindle, I think once these are done, I might try to read a physical book. I dont think I have read a physical book since I got my Kindle. If you had told me this would happen when I got the Kindle, I would have never believed you!.

OUTRIGHT GAMES EASTER SALE 2026 | BEST PICKS FOR KIDS & FAMILY GAMES NIGHT

Nothing quite beats a games night in our house, it’s become a bit of a tradition now. We usually wrap up the afternoon with a little sweet treat. It’s been lovely weather here for a few days, so it’s been ice creams all round, then the Nintendo Switch gets fired up, and it’s full on girls’ games night mode.

TITTESWORTH RESERVOIR EASTER TRAIL | A FAMILY DAY OUT IN STAFFORDSHIRE

Nothing beats getting out in the fresh air on a sunny day, and that’s exactly what we did at Tittesworth Reservoir today, as I had found an Easter trail to do, and nothing shouts a good day out with chocolate at the end of it, right? :)

MENTAL HEALTH COMES IN WAVES

The funny thing with mental health is you never know when it’s going to bite you in the arse, so to speak. No triggers, nothing you can pinpoint, it just comes and goes in waves, and all you can do is ride it.

WHAT I'M READING | IF HE FINDS US | DANIEL HURST

Daniel Hurst is really pulling through with the short stories at the moment. I found a bunch of them on Kindle Unlimited, and I have to say, I am hooked, especially with this one.

THE SCHOOL TRIP SHE DIDNT WANT BUT ABSOLUTELY NEEDED

There are moments in parenting that completely stop you in your tracks, and last week was one of them for me.I had just picked up Nila from her first-ever school residential: 3 days and 2 nights away from home, and honestly, I was lost for words.

EASY FAMILY DINNERS WITH GOUSTO

Family dinner time in our house is honestly one of the most important parts of the day for me. It’s our time to properly catch up. We talk about how the kids have done at school, what everyone’s been up to, and actually listen to each other, which I feel like doesn’t happen enough these days. Life gets busy, everyone’s rushing around, so when we do get that time together, we really do cherish it.

WHAT I'M READING | THE BODY | DANIEL HURST

Another author I found last year and have been going through his books on Kindle Unlimited is Daniel Hurst. He has quite a few books, so of course, I downloaded most of them while I have Kindle Unlimited for the month, definitely getting my money's worth this time!

A DAY AT TRENTHAM GARDENS IN STAFFORDSHIRE

Trentham Gardens is somewhere I haven’t been in years. The last time I visited was when I was working with BlogOn, exploring Stoke-on-Trent and showcasing what the area has to offer. This time was a little different. My mum has been staying with us for the week, and we fancied a proper girls day out, and my mum has never been, plus we needed somewhere to go as I was working on a project too, so it was a win-win :)

FREE AND CHEAP THINGS TO DO IN AND AROUND STAFFORDSHIRE THIS EASTER HALF TERM

If you are anything like me having a few plans sorted for the Easter holidays just makes everything run a little smoother. Two whole weeks is a long time to fill, and although I am all for a chilled movie afternoon on the sofa or a bit of a crafting session at the kitchen table, it’s nice to get out and about too, especially when it doesn’t cost a fortune.
