January is here, and I already have so many plans for the house. I don’t know what it is about a new year, but it just screams revamp the home to me. Not a full 360 obviously, my bank balance would absolutely not cope, but I really believe it’s the small changes that give a home a whole new lease of life.
Another one on my Kindle that I'm trying to get through. The quickest book on the plane, 50 pages, sometimes I love a short story, can i class this as book number three of the year? :) . An evening of reading and a nice hot cup of tea.
This year I turn 40, and honestly, I want to become the best version of myself,in all aspects, but especially physically. As a mum of three, my goal is simple: to be as healthy and strong as I can be so I can watch them grow, keep up with them, and be here for as long as possible.
Second book of January and I really want to make a conscious effort to read more and less scrolling!. Aiming for 50 books this year, I am going to hit that target if I carry on at this pace!. Samantha Hayes is beginning to become a regular author for me.
January’s Lush Kitchen Subscription Box, Drift Away to Dreamland, is such a dreamy name, and the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. I’m definitely keeping it for journalling and crafting, yes, I am that girl who cuts up bits of scrap paper and saves them for future creative projects.
I have big plans this year, and by big plans, I mean becoming the happiest version of myself and the healthiest in all aspects, mind, body, and spirit. If you know me personally or have followed me for a long time, you will know I am a busy woman.
Sitting in bed this morning with a cup of coffee and my kindle while Nila still sleeps , perfect. We have had quite bad snow and couldn’t get out of our road this morning so we’ve had a snow day and honestly , it has got me in my feels.

One thing we have said we want to do more of in 2026 is spend proper time together. We used to have game nights every Friday, but somewhere along the way they fizzled out, the joys of busy life and not always making time for each other. So we are starting again, and this time with a way to keep it going. We have been loving our Nintendo Switch again, and after the girls got a load of new games for Christmas, it felt like the perfect excuse to bring Friday game nights back.

Boxing Day for me means the Lush sale, first and foremost. If you have been here for a while, you will know the love I have for Lush is very real. What a day!. To say I am absolutely exhausted is an understatement, but it has all been so worth it. I have struggled at times throughout the day with grief over my Dad, but I’ve made it to the end of the day and it’s been a good one.I am in bed waiting for the Xmas Eastenders to start, with a cup of tea and mince pie.

Nila loves making gifts, all year round, if I’m being honest, but for us, nothing says Christmas quite like her creating little handmade presents for her friends. There is something so special about children taking the time to make something themselves, especially during the festive season.
Sometimes I come across a short story on kindle unlimited , around 100 pages and they are the perfect book to get me out of a reading slump.My A game when it comes to reading over the last few months have not been up to scratch.
Christmas time, especially, is one of our favourite times to reconnect. It’s such a shame we don’t manage it as much as I would like throughout the year, but there is something about the magic of the festive season that naturally brings families together.
